And So it Begins...

New beginnings.  It seems like that has become a bit of a theme in my life these days. Or, at least in the lives of some of the people I love the most.  Anyone who knows me we'll knows that I don't like change. I like routine.  I like to be able to reply with a hearty "Nothing!" when someone asks me what's new.  The problem is that life isn't that way. My children are growing up and it isn't happening slowly.  Our daughter will start high school in a few short months.  Our closest friends are moving away.  Life has seasons and I am feeling the pull to have things stay the way they are in the same way I long for one more week of summer, one more day of Spring Break, one more chapter.  But, that isn't how it works. Kids grow up, people move away, summer ends, you get to the last page.  I find hope in my God that doesn't change and in the reality that summer comes around again, there will be delicious new books, and new adventures in the next chapters of my children's lives.  Old friends in new places can mean more opportunities to make more lovely memories.  New beginnings, indeed.
